As your Realtor, I can help you through the entire process of buying a home, starting with recommending lenders for mortgage prequalification and continuing right through closing – and beyond. It's important to obtain a copy of your credit report and your FICO score and, if necessary, do what you need to do to improve it. The higher your FICO score, the better interest rate you can command. You can get this information online. Contact several lenders and determine which one will give you the best deal. Determine your price range and the area(s) in which you're interested. By now you should have a good idea of how much home you can afford. This helps you narrow down your home search. You should also begin researching the neighborhoods in which you might want to live. Decide which amenities and features you must have – and which ones would be nice but not necessary. How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you want? Would you prefer a newer home or an older one with established landscaping? Are hardwood floors a must? Is an updated kitchen important to you? Walk-in closets? Which features would you be willing to give up if you find the otherwise-perfect home?

The typical home sale today involves more than 20 steps after the initial contract is accepted to complete the transaction. As your Realtor, I can provide the experience and knowledge to guide you through the entire process, and selling your home within the ideal time frame and at the most effective price point. As the representative of your best interests, I have the marketing resources to showcase your home’s best assets, and help you determine what improvements will make the biggest difference. Much of what needs to be done before the closing is the responsibility of appraisers, loan processors, attorneys, and inspectors. My role also includes coordinating those responsibilities and helping to ensure that others do their jobs promptly and correctly. Many of the steps between contract and closing involve the cooperation of both buyer and seller, and attentive real estate professionals on both sides of the transaction will troubleshoot and keep everyone on track.
